Originally from Northern Ireland, Shauna began her career at the young age of 16 in television and radio for BBC youth programmes in Belfast. Her big break was BBC1's Saturday morning children's programme ‘Going Live’ which led to ‘Ghost Train’ for ITV. She was a current affairs reporter for LWT's ‘Six O'Clock Show’ and then presenter of ‘Jo-Maxi’ (magazine show) and ‘Bon Voyage’ (travel series) both for RTE in Ireland 1990-95. She then moved back to London and joined BBC1's ‘Animal Hospital’ as reporter/co-presenter and went on to win many National Television Awards. From 1999 she was the presenter on BBC1’s ‘Battersea Dogs Home’ and served as a Trustee for the charity for over 10 years. She was also proud to be President of the USPCA in N.Ireland for 10 years. In addition to the above credits, Shauna was one of the main presenters of the BBC's ‘Millennium Eve’ world-wide coverage. She has great live experience, presenting numerous high profile shows including the ‘National Lottery’, ‘City hospital,’ ‘Children In Need’ and ‘Crufts’. She was the host of many shows on Discovery Animal Planet. She has also hosted Saturday Live, RTE's prime time Saturday night chat show, and Fair Play, a consumer affairs show for BBC Northern Ireland.

She is a freelance journalist and writes articles for various magazines and newspapers. She is a seasoned corporate presenter (National Parks/Norfolk Broads, Veterinary College, Purina etc.) and MC for many companies and events. She is also a voice-over artist for adverts and audio books.

Shauna is a fully qualified scuba-diver, proficient horse-rider, sailor and skier.  A keen wildlife photographer Shauna won ‘Wild Trials’ RTE’s celebrity photography competition. 

 

After a long career travelling the world and living in the cities of Dublin and London for many years, she moved to the countryside to bring up her two children with her partner, dog and six chickens. She is a fully qualified Forest and Beach School Leader, teaching bush-craft skills and sharing her nature knowledge with children and enjoys being outdoors, horse-riding and walking the dog in the woods or wild swimming at the beach.
